Being There

Being There is a new project in Bolton whose aim is to provide mental wellbeing support to families and young people from BAME communities in Bolton. As the name implies, it is our mission to be available for those people who may be impacted by many aspects of mental health.

Mental Well Being Project

Kingdom Fellowship have come together to create and develop a community based mental well-being programme for families and young people from BAME backgrounds. This project aims to raise mental health awareness, provide low level intervention and improve the mental well-being of young people.

How Do We Support?

  • Using a holistic and person centred approach, we offer 1:1 support, peer led groups, workshops and outreach events

  • Some of the support will include Confidence Building, Breaking Racial Barriers and Mental Health Awareness and Managing Emotions

What We Want To Achieve

  • Better outcomes for young people from BAME backgrounds

  • Build their resilience, confidence and self-worth

  • Inspire and motivate

  • Give young people a voice

  • Promote healthy minds and healthy bodies

  • Access to resources, information and other support services

  • Develop positive outlook to life

  • Empower and equip young people with knowledge and life skills

  • Provide a safe space for families and young people

What Young People Have Told Us

We have already started to engage the young people. They’re excited for the project and have brilliant ideas and expectations;

  • Suggestions of performing arts workshops

  • others wanted recreational trips

  • another talked about how excited they were about  the business workshops and guest speakers

  • one commented on how mental health was not discussed enough amongst young people and how this is a great opportunity for that
